Controlling your ball flight and hitting a draw is much easier than you might think. And, if you’d like to lower your scores and master the course, hitting a draw is a skill you definitely need.

The ball will curve from right to left when you hit a draw, somewhat similar to a hook shot but a draw is planned and controlled. Many golfers practice this shot constantly because it can add significant distance to their drives. A properly hit draw produces a lower ball flight which rolls farther once it lands on the fairway. You can expect your game to improve significantly once you perfect hitting a draw.

If you’d like to learn how to hit this useful shot, you’ll need to make sure you incorporate a few things into your swing.

First, hitting a draw requires a strong grip, so rotate your hands slightly to the right on the shaft. Don’t turn the shaft itself, just rotate your hands.

Next, when you address the ball, close your stance slightly. A closed stance not only gives your body the room it needs to make a complete turn, but permits you achieve to the proper inside-to-outside swing path.

Interested in improving your chipping shots? Click here to learn how!

Allow your hands to do the work as your club head strikes the ball. Your right hand will roll back and revert to a more neutral position, which allows the face of your club to slightly close. This is why a strong grip is so essential to hitting a draw.

Keep your head down while you’re following through and finishing your swing. If you use the proper technique, the ball will start off to the right, but once it reaches the apex of its trajectory, it will start curving back to the left, ending up near the center. If your ball curves to the left immediately, you’re hitting a hook, not a draw, so practice your technique some more.

You can learn a lot by looking at your divot. When you’re hitting an iron, your divot should be pointing directly at your target line or slightly to the left. It should not be pointing to the right of the target.

Hitting a draw properly will take some practice. A mid-iron works well for this shot, and many golfers prefer using a 6 iron for a draw. If you try hitting a draw with that club but you’re still having difficulty, take a look at your grips. Using larger, softer grips will make hitting a draw more difficult.

Don’t get discouraged if you hit hooks when you first start learning to hit a draw. Hooks can be expected during the learning process. Taking a strong grip by rotating your hands to the right takes practice. Try making a small adjustment, hitting a few balls to see what happens, and then making additional adjustments if needed.

As hitting a draw becomes easier and you start perfecting it with your mid-irons, try it with your driver. Frequently the driver is the hardest club to master when it comes to hitting a draw, but learning how to hit the shot with irons will pave the way for hitting it perfectly with your driver. Keep practicing and don’t get discouraged, because once you learn how, you’ll control the shot much better and your scores will be lower.

If you’re a left-handed golfer, you probably feel left out. After all, hundreds of websites provide tips for right-handed golfers, but looking for tips for lefties must seem like you’re prospecting for gold. Well, we’ve assembled six simple but helpful left-handed golf tips that beginners might think are worth their weight in gold.

No matter which side you play from, the mechanics of a good golf swing are essentially the same. After you master the basics, you can progress into more advanced techniques.

When you’re brand-new to the game, one of the most important golf tips for left-handed golfers – and right-handers, too – is to keep your head down throughout the entire swing. In fact, one of the most common mistakes any new player can make is raising the head to watch where the ball is going after it’s been hit.

Click Here NOW and Discover the Secrets to Improving Your Golf Driving!

Another very common mistake made by new golfers is not permitting the hips and body to rotate fully while coming through the ball and into the follow through. Lefties should rotate as fully as possible to the right in order to lend power to the swing. Lead with your right hip and follow with your hands. This concept is one of the keys to striking the ball solidly.

Although you need to lead your swing with your right hand, you should finish it with your left. Use the power of your dominant hand and side – for lefties, the left – to drive through the ball as you hit it.

Another very important golf tip for lefties involves trying to finish your swing with a complete follow through. Your swing should not end flat-footed or back on your heels; instead, end on the ball of your left foot, with your weight on your right foot. Finishing this way means you made the full hip rotation you need for producing maximum power.

No list of golf tips for left-handed golfers would be complete unless it included some information about good course management. As you gain more playing experience you’ll see that most golf courses have at least a few holes that “dogleg” either left or right. In other words, these holes are not straight, instead veering in one direction or the other. As a lefty, you’ll need to learn how to hit a draw in order to successfully play a hole that doglegs right. A draw is a golf shot that produces a controlled curve to the right (to the left for right-handed golfers).

Most of the information written about hitting a draw is directed to right-handed golfers, so as a lefty you’ll need to remember to reverse the instructions. Make sure you practice this shot, because it will serve you well throughout the years.

Click Here NOW and Discover the Secrets to Improving Your Golf Driving!

The last of our six left-handed golf tips relates to your clubs. Many left-handers use clubs designed for righties, but this is a big mistake. Right-handed clubs will never permit a left-handed golfer to reach his or her full playing potential. Instead, get yourself a set of left-handed clubs, either online or in a sporting goods store. You’ll find yourself playing much better once you do.

Hitting the ball fat can be every bit as frustrating as hitting a slice. Don’t get discouraged, though, because once you know why you’re hitting the ball fat, you can begin working on correcting it. It’s a simple matter of golf swing mechanics.

When you’re hitting the ball fat, it’s almost impossible to identify what you’re doing wrong without someone else there to help you. If you can, have one of your golf buddies watch you swing while looking for whether you have any of the swing flaws described below.

You’re probably dropping your back shoulder (the right one, if you’re right-handed, the left shoulder if you’re a lefty) if you’re hitting the ball fat. Dropping your shoulder will cause the club to hit the ground early, before it ever gets to the ball. It’s often caused by trying to swing too hard and starting the downswing with too much hip motion.

Here’s something you can try to illustrate this principle. Grab a club and address the ball normally. Then bring the club up to the apex of your backswing and stop. With the club at the top of your swing, slide your hips horizontally toward your target and watch what your back shoulder does. It dips!

Drop Six Strokes off Your Game… Guaranteed, Click Here!

Now, ask your buddy to watch your hips and back shoulder while you repeat this exercise slowly. If he or she sees your shoulder dropping, you’ve probably learned why you’re hitting the ball fat.

You’ll need to learn how to use your lower body properly during the swing in order to correct the problem. Your hips must coil and uncoil, not slide laterally, during your swing. If you focus on initiating your downswing with your arms, your hips will follow quite naturally.

You can also focus on keeping your lead (front) shoulder down during your swing. Practice this a few times and your shots will get better as your body gets the message.

In addition, you need to remember to keep your lead arm straight as you begin your backswing. As you reach the top of your backswing, tell yourself to keep your forward shoulder down, and then begin your downswing. As your hips uncoil, don’t permit them to slide forward horizontally.

All these tips are easy, but you’ll need to spend some time practicing and trying different things. Naturally, the best place to do this is at the practice range. You might even be able to find someone there to watch your swing for you.

Drop Six Strokes off Your Game… Guaranteed, Click Here!

Remember to go through all the clubs in your bag while you’re practicing, not just one or two of them. Hitting the ball fat is possible with any club, from driver to sand wedge, so you’ll need to practice with each club in order to master the art of hitting the ball crisply. Many players, even professionals, start with their short irons and work up to the longer clubs when they’re learning a new shot or a new technique.

Hitting the ball off the tee is a crucial part of the golf game, so players of all skill levels are always looking for golf tips for better driving. Not only is driving one of the most important aspects of golf, it’s also one of the most difficult to do well. This makes finding good golf tips for better driving important for a large number of players.

Many golfers are erratic off the tee. Half their drives might be just fine, but the other half are, well, “less than fine.” We’ve assembled some effective golf tips for better driving that can help any player, from beginners to low-handicappers.

Thousands of articles are available on this important subject, but not all of them provide the same quality or amount of information. One of the most important golf tips for better driving is also one of the most overlooked: keep the ball in play. Many players concentrate on hitting the ball as far as they can, but even impressive distance will backfire if it means your ball hooks or slices out of bounds or gets lost in the trees and you need to take a penalty. Whenever you can, choose accuracy over distance.

Click Here NOW and Discover the Secrets to Improving Your Golf Driving!

Focus on taking the correct posture whenever you address the ball. The posture that’s correct is slightly different for everyone, but there are some common denominators you can use to start with:

Your feet should be placed shoulder-wide, with the ball positioned off your left heel (for right-handed players). Your head should be behind the ball from the beginning through the end of your swing.

Your knees should be flexed slightly, similar to a baseball shortstop preparing to catch a fly ball. Some golfers hunch over the ball or stand too upright.

One of the golf tips for better driving you’ll want to remember, especially if you’re a novice golfer, is that you’ll frequently hit a poor drive if you’re trying to hit the ball as hard as you can. To get more distance, you don’t need to grip it and rip it. Instead, maximize your club head speed as it approaches the impact zone. Faster club head speed means more distance.

Certain golf tips for better driving apply to golfers who use the bigger, 460 cc drivers. These drivers deliver more energy to the ball upon impact. Although they’ve become extremely popular, they do require a lot of practice to master. Many experienced golfers are surprised when they learn they’re not able to replace their old-fashioned traditional driver with a larger club and immediately be able to hit it with the same amount of skill.

Typically, the larger drivers require you to tee the ball up higher than you would with an older driver. In fact, you might need to buy some taller tees than those you’re used to.

Click Here NOW and Discover the Secrets to Improving Your Golf Driving!

Our final golf tip for better driving is simple: practice. The best way you can improve any aspect of your game, including hitting the ball off the tee, is through consistent, regular practice. If your practice time is limited, try spending half an hour per week on the driving range with just one or two clubs along with your driver.

Hundreds of golf tips for better driving are available on the Internet. The more you know about golf and the golf swing, the better you’ll play.

If you’ve been wondering how to break 80, you have plenty of company. Many dedicated golfers reach the point where shooting in the 70s becomes their target. Although this goal can be elusive, reaching it is actually easier than you think.

If you ask 20 good golfers how to break 80, you’ll probably hear 20 different answers. We’ll discuss just one of them below.

A typical round involves hitting a variety of shots, from driving to putting and everything in between. However, you’ll need to master hitting off the tee, whether it’s with your driver or your pitching wedge, in order to know how to break 80.

One big reason so many golfers fail to break 80 is because they lose too many strokes off the tee. It only takes a few bad drives to ruin your score. Think about it: if you hit a slice deep into the trees, you’re probably setting yourself up for a bogey at best on that hole. So, mastering your tee shots is necessary to know how to break 80.

Click Here To Discover How To Break 80 and Shoot Like the Pros!

In addition to direction, you must also control the distance of your tee shots. The magical combination of the proper distance and direction is what creates opportunities for eagles on par 5s and birdie chances on all other holes. This combination will give you the ability to shoot in the mid- to high-70s consistently.

Here are a few tips you can use to help you maximize your tee shots:

First, like anything else, practice is essential for hitting quality tee shots. Try different things to learn what works best for you. As a side benefit, you might learn a few new shots to add to your arsenal.

For example, try teeing the ball at different heights. Start by teeing it high, then at a medium height. Finally, try teeing it low. A low tee height can give you some additional control.

You can also try gripping the club differently. Gripping down on the club by lowering your hands on the shaft can be an effective way to gain additional control. It also allows you to make quicker mid-swing adjustments.

Develop a practice routine which incorporates every club you might hit off a tee, including wedges or other short irons you might use for a short par 3. After all, you need to use the club that’s most appropriate for the distance, whether it’s your pitching wedge, your driver or something in between.

You might want to start using one of the bigger 460 cc drivers while you’re learning how to break 80. Just remember that mastering one of these clubs will require practice on the driving range.

Your goal is not only to add distance, but also to control the ball consistently when you’re hitting off the tee. A long drive will hurt you, not help you, if it ends up in a hazard or deep in the woods. If you can’t control the ball’s direction when you hit it long, sacrifice distance, because control is more important.

Click Here To Discover How To Break 80 and Shoot Like the Pros!

You’ll need time and plenty of practice to learn how to hit the ball properly off the tee. If you’re persistent your scores will start coming down, slowly but surely. Keep at it, and before long you’ll know how to break 80 because you’ll be shooting in the 70s!

Learning how to cure a slice is a top priority for many amateur golfers. Although there are plenty of other bad golf shots (hooks, shanks and so on), few are as annoying or frustrating as that big curve off to the right. Fortunately, learning how to cure a slice doesn’t have to be difficult. Use the following tips to learn how to eliminate that ugly banana ball from your game.

Frequently, an improper setup position is responsible for shots veering off to the right. So, to learn how to cure a slice, first check your setup at address. Make sure your feet and shoulders are lined up with your target line. For most shots your left foot should be placed directly beneath your left shoulder. If your stance is open or closed the ball will probably not fly on a straight path.

Next, take a look at your grip. Don’t grasp the club too tightly because that will restrict your swing. Don’t hold it too loosely, either, because then your club face can move when it strikes the ball. Grip the club firmly but not tightly.

Click Here NOW and Discover The Secrets to Cure a Slice!

You should also check whether your grip is neutral, strong or weak. These terms relate to the position of your hands relative to the shaft. To check your grip, take your normal stance and grip your club, then look at your hands. You should see two knuckles on your left hand (or right hand, for lefties). More than two means your grip is too strong, while fewer means your grip is too weak.

Knowing how to cure a slice also involves making sure the club face is square as it impacts the ball. If you leave the club face open you’ll hit a slice for sure.

You might also hit a slice because you’re having issues with your hip turn. You need to make a smooth, full hip turn during your downswing, through impact, and during your follow through. You won’t be able to hit the ball with a square club face unless your hips rotate smoothly through your swing. Continue your hip rotation after you hit the ball until you arrive at a nice, high finish.

Raising your head too soon after striking the ball is another reason balls fly off to the right. It’s a common problem because players naturally want to watch their ball flight. It can, however, lead to the types of mistakes that cause a slice.

Swinging too fast is yet another common cause of slicing the ball. Fortunately this one is easy to fix. Don’t make the typical mistake of speeding up your hands as you begin your downswing, because it won’t add the distance you’re hoping for. Although club head speed is important for distance, you need to create it with your entire body, not just your hands.

Click Here NOW and Discover The Secrets to Cure a Slice!

Identifying the cause is a key component of learning how to cure a slice. Naturally, this will take some time and practice. Your swing is unique to you, and you’ll need to eliminate possible causes one by one in order to identify what you’re doing wrong. Once you identify the cause(s), you can correct your technique.

Learning how to cure a slice is possible, but it requires time, practice and patience. It will be worth it, though, because once you’ve solved the problem, you’ll enjoy the game more as well as shoot lower scores.

Is there any golfer in existence who doesn’t want to drive a golf ball straight? Of course not! Of course, the driver is probably the most difficult club to master. After all, it’s the longest golf club, and in general, the longer the club, the harder it is to use properly. That doesn’t mean you can’t learn to drive a golf ball straight, though – with a few tips and some consistent, productive practice you’ll be driving it right down the middle.

The best drives have power behind them as well as minimal backspin on the ball and a fairly low trajectory. All three characteristics allow the ball to roll for additional yards after it lands, and when you achieve all three, your game and scores will become significantly better.

When you want to drive a golf ball straight, one of the first things you must understand is how important it is to maintain leverage throughout your entire swing. You’ll need to keep your head behind the ball from address through impact in order to do this.

You also need to understand that club head speed is more important than arm strength when you’re seeking distance. Trying to muscle your shot will almost always cause you to hit the ball poorly. Your hips and legs generate speed and power, so use them to your advantage.

Click Here NOW and Discover the Secrets to Drive a Golf Ball Straight!

Your driver is much more inflexible about your swing path than some of your other clubs. Keep the swing plane low (shallow) when you begin your backswing.

When you want to drive a golf ball straight, always have your hands ahead of the club head at the moment of impact. When you wrists snap forward as you strike the ball, you’ll generate additional club head speed and power.

Some golfers try to slow or stop their swing after they hit the ball. To avoid this common mistake, make sure your arms and body are moving throughout the entire swing, including your follow through.

Avoiding an excessively tight grip is also essential when you want to drive a golf ball straight. You want to whip through the ball with your club, not chop at it.

Slow down your backswing if you tend to hit a slice off the tee. Your downswing might be too hard or too fast, causing you to come out of the proper swing path. Take a look at your grip, also. If you can’t see at least two knuckles on your forward hand while you’re looking down at it during address, your grip is setting you up to fly the ball right. It works the other way around, too. If you see more than two or three knuckles on your lead hand at address, you’ll probably hit a hook to the left.

Click Here NOW and Discover the Secrets to Drive a Golf Ball Straight!

Our final tip on how to drive a golf ball straight involves properly aligning your body to ensure that you don’t pull or push the ball off the tee. You’ll be able to tell by looking at the divot you might take during your shot. If your divot points either right or left of your target line, your alignment is off.

Put some of these tips into action and you’ll probably see improvement in your game. What’s the best tip of all when you want to drive a golf ball straight? Stick with it and practice!

It’s not as difficult to fix a hook shot as you might think. The key to learning how to eliminate this wacky but frustrating shot off to the left is to identify the cause. Several things can create a hooked golf shot, but we’ve assembled four tips for golfers who want to learn how to fix a hook permanently.

A hook results from a counter-clockwise spin being imparted to the ball when it’s launched. The faster the spin, the more severe the hook will be.You might be wondering what causes this counter-clockwise spin. The short answer is that the spin is created when the ball is hit with a closed club face – pointing to the left of the target for a right-handed golfer or to the right for a lefty. Always try to strike the ball with a square, neutral club face which points directly at the target.

Click Here To Learn How To Fix a Hook & Improve Your All Round Golfing Ability!

Most experts and other people in the know agree that when you want to fix a hook, the first and best place to start is with the grip. Here’s how you can check your grip – don’t worry, it’s easy: Take a club and assume your normal stance and setup. Now, look down at your hands. You should see two knuckles on your lead hand (your left, if you’re right-handed; your right hand if you’re left-handed). If you see two knuckles, your grip is neutral and ideal – not too weak and not too strong. If your grip is too strong, with three or more knuckles visible, you’re setting yourself up to hit a hook. Now things can get a bit trickier. While you’re still in your address position, look down at the club face and see if it’s square to your target. It probably is, at least at address. But, it might not stay that way as the club moves toward the ball during your downswing. If your grip is too strong, your hands will cause the club face to close at impact. All this means if you want to fix a hook, you need to evaluate your grip honestly and take measures to modify it, if necessary. Unfortunately, many golfers refuse to even consider modifying their grip. Others try, but aren’t willing to spend the time and practice necessary to get used to it, so they slip back into gripping the club improperly.

If you’ve checked your grip and it’s neutral, the next step in learning how to fix a hook is to check your balance. Your weight should be distributed evenly over the balls of your feet, not on your heels or toes. This weight distribution will allow you to have a smooth hip turn and still maintain your balance. Striking the ball while off balance can cause a hook.

It’s very important for your lead arm (your left arm, for righties; your right arm, if you’re a lefty) to be straight as the club strikes the ball. Ask someone to watch you hit some balls and let you know if your arm is straight or not. Keep in mind that anything that causes a closed club face at impact will result in a hook.

Click Here To Learn How To Fix a Hook & Improve Your All Round Golfing Ability!

One of these tips will probably fix your hook. Try them out, one at a time, hitting several balls each time. You might need to make some minor adjustments until you start hitting the ball straight instead of a wild hook to the left. It might take some patience and practice, but when you want to fix a hook, you’ll need to use a process of elimination.

Your game will greatly improve if you can learn how to hit fairway woods straight and true. You might use your woods less often than some of your other clubs, but when you need them, you really want to hit them well, because they can help you save par after a bad drive or give you a chance at an elusive eagle. To learn to hit fairway woods properly, you’ll need to know the proper mechanics and then practice them.

We’ve put together some tips that should help you if you’re just learning how to hit fairway woods:

Click Here NOW and Discover The Proper Way to Hit Fairway Woods!

Never confuse your woods with your irons. In some cases the distances you hit them might be similar, but the swing mechanics you need to employ are not. For example, you should take a divot with your irons, but not with your woods.

Always align your feet with your target unless you want to hit a fade or a draw. Place your feet roughly shoulder-width apart, and play the ball slightly forward. If you’re right-handed, the ball should be roughly in line with your left foot (your right foot if you’re a lefty). Keep your arms and back straight, but flex your knees slightly.

If your ball is lying in the rough, tamp down some of the grass between the club head and the ball. As long as you don’t touch or move the ball this is permitted by the Rules of Golf.

Always keep your lead arm as straight as you can during your swing. You’ll hit fairway woods much better when your hips coil during your backswing and then uncoil in your downswing. You should also keep your eyes on the ball. Don’t raise your head during your swing; instead, keep it down until after impact.

It might be tempting, but don’t try to scoop the ball off the ground when you hit fairway woods. Instead, hit the ball crisply and trust the loft of the club to do the work. Don’t try to hit the ball too hard, either. Many golfers, especially beginners, make the common mistake of trying to hit the ball as hard as they can. This strategy is almost guaranteed to backfire. Instead, making a smooth, controlled swing along the correct swing path will send the ball on its way to the target.

Know when to use your fairway woods and when a different club would be better. Don’t automatically assume a wood is the right club to use just because you’re a long way from the green. Instead, think about your lie and other factors. For example, if you’re in the woods, an iron might be a better choice, just to get your ball back into play. Going for the green by hitting a fairway wood in this situation can be a major mistake.

Knowing how to hit fairway woods properly requires practice. You’ll need to become proficient at striking the ball cleanly. You’ll also need to become familiar with how far you hit the ball with each one of your woods. Practicing on the range is the only way you can do this. Remember to practice bunker shots, too.

Click Here NOW and Discover The Proper Way to Hit Fairway Woods and Improve Your Game!

Your scores will go down and your overall game will improve if you learn how to hit fairway woods properly. They can be potent weapons in your arsenal, so practice until you learn how to use them.

Practicing with effective putting drills can be one of the quickest ways you can improve your golf game. It’s not uncommon for golfers to waste a lot of strokes once they arrive on the green. Naturally, this inflates their scores badly. You can learn how to drop the ball into the hole in fewer strokes by practicing with putting drills that work.

Experienced golfers know a good short game is crucial to scoring well. It’s easy to ruin a good game with poor putting. 3-putts and even 4-putts can happen way too often, but putting drills can help you hone your putting skills and lower your scores.

When you’re practicing with putting drills, focus on three very important principles, all of which are required for good putting: keeping the putter face square; maintaining a smooth putting stroke; and improving your distance control.

Click Here NOW and Discover the Secrets to Putting Using Effective Putting Drills!

Keeping the Putter Face Square

You don’t want to strike the ball with your putter face open or closed. If you have a tendency to do this, put a ball on the practice green and then insert a tee into the ground about a foot behind it and a coin about six inches in front of it. Bring your putter back until it taps the tee, then swing forward and strike the ball. Make sure your putter face remains square as it passes over the coin.

Maintaining a Smooth Putting Stroke

All putting drills should be targeted toward achieving a specific goal. Swinging your putter smoothly is essential for maintaining the proper tempo and striking the ball solidly. Once again, put a ball on the practice green and insert a tee in the same position as mentioned before. Bring your putter back until it barely taps the tee and then swing forward. Your arms should move like a pendulum and your hands should stay quiet and still.

Improving Your Distance Control

Learning how to control the distance of your putts is one of the most important putting drills of all. Mastering distance control boils down to developing an elusive skill called “touch” or “feel,” and it can only be acquired by practice. If you look around, you’ll probably find dozens of different putting drills designed to help you master distance control. One of the best, though, involves placing five tees on the putting green four feet apart. The fifth tee should be 20 feet away. Practice trying to get the ball to each of those tees (and distances) consistently. Rolling the ball past a tee by a few inches is fine, but don’t leave any balls short of a tee or roll any well past one.

This putting drill doesn’t use an actual hole, because that might shift your concentration onto accuracy. Distance control is what’s important here, so using tees as targets is psychologically better than using a cup. Although good putting combines distance and accuracy, it’s often better to work on learning them separately.

There are many putting drills available on golf websites or even from your golf pro. These are just a few of them. To lower your scores by mastering putting, you’ll need to put in some time and energy practicing. Learning how to read greens and how to lag your putts close are important putting skills, but you’ll also need to practice effective putting drills, because they really do help.
